:(

Melissa is moving back to Boston. Her Dad has cancer and his girlfriend, who had been taking care of him, we just found out had been stealing money from him and Melissa as well. So they are gonna toss her in the joint and Melissa is moving back to take care of her Dad. I am and will continue to be very sad, but she has to do what she has to do of course. I have spent pretty much every day of the last 3.5 years sleeping in the same bed or house as her and will miss her very very much.

On the bright side my college buddy Nick is moving here in a week or two. Hopefully that will brighten my spirits.

Yesterday I went to a party at Amber's house, it was pretty fun, met some people. Played poker from 11pm-5am at the Hilton, it was pretty lame, I started with $800 and finished with $800. Waste of time. I did get lucky though, I should have lost all $800. I was down to $400 and a flop came A92 diamonds, I had A2 clubs. The first better went in for $20, I raised to $80, he went all-in. I spent a very long time thinking, possibly the longest I've ever thought about a hand. I put him on a big ace (which I shouldn't have done thinking of it now, because he didn't raise preflop) and ended up calling. He had a flopped a flush, and I had only 4 cards that could save me, which with 2 cards to come, is a 9% chance. I got lucky and rivered a 2, which brought me back to $800, which is where i stayed for the next few hours. Very slow table.

F'ing CURSED

So what is the deal with my luck? Who did I wrong? Am I really Hitler reborn or something?

Perhaps I'm overreacting. But Jack's stock picker Steve made his account run from 45k to 195k in about 14 months. So for the last couple months Jack's been telling me the INSTANT Steve makes a trade. Sometimes I've acted on it sometimes I haven't - it's about 50/50. I've bought 5 stocks that he picked. 1 fell 99%, 2 fell 18%, 1 fell 9%, and 1 gained 175%. I LOST money. Yet Jack gained 88% during the same time period. So of the 13 stocks that have been bought during the time I've been getting these picks, 4 have gone down, and 9 have gone up. I've picked all 4 of the losers.

And this was at random. It just so happened that I saw Jack's IM in time to make a trade that day, and did so. Now to make things worse, on 6/9 Jack told me he was selling EGY at 8.25, which was my ONLY winning stock out of the 5 I bought. Well I got the news too late, and it fell 8%. I figured I'd hold it for a couple of days and it would bounce back. On Monday it was down 7%. Tuesday down 9% to about 6.95. I put in a stop to sell at 6.75. The next day it opens at 6.6 and so it all gets sold at 6.6. So now instead of the 175% i was up over 6 months, after the last 3 days I now was up only 100%. It cost me $4000. But that's not even the good part.

Three days after I sold, the stock was back at 8.25.
